College Football: Cincinnati Bearcats at Tulane Green Wave

price per head onlineTonight the Cincinnati Bearcats will travel to take on the Tulane Green Wave.

These two schools from the American Athletic Conference both enter unranked. Cincinnati (4-3) and Tulane (2-5) will each be seeking the win in this one.

The Cincinnati Bearcats look to win three straight games and remain in the hunt for the American Athletic Conference title. Cincinnati lives and dies with its passing game led by Gunner Kiel, who is completing 59.4 percent of his passes for 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. Kiel is expected to play in this game despite a ribs injury, and he’s scored three touchdowns and thrown zero picks in his last two games. Cincinnati has 20 passing plays of 25 or more yards, and Chris Moore and Shaq Washington have combined for more than 800 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Johnny Holton has also hauled in a touchdown in back-to-back games. The Bearcats ground game is averaging 4.3 yards per carry and freshman RB Mike Boone is coming off a 200-yard performance. Defensively, the Cincinnati Bearcats are allowing 32 points, 489.3 yards, and they’ve forced 14 turnovers and 19 sacks. Jeff Luc leads Cincinnati with 78 tackles and Terrell Hartsfield has seven tackles for loss.

The Tulane Green Wave have lost three of their last four games but their only two wins have come at home. Offensively, Tulane is a running football team that averages 4.3 yards per carry and is led by a duo of Sherman Badie and Lazedrick Thompson that has produced more than 900 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Tulane has rushed for 150-plus yards in three of its last four games. After missing some time with a shoulder injury, Tanner Lee is expected to return, and he’s completing 49.3 percent of his passes for eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. Lee hasn’t thrown a touchdown since Tulane’s third game of the season. Justyn Shackleford has caught 24 of Tulane’s 122 passes and leads the Green Wave with 342 receiving yards. Xavier Rush is doubtful. Defensively, the Tulane Green Wave allow 28.1 points, 367.3 yards, and they’ve forced 18 turnovers and 13 sacks. Sam Scofield leads Tulane with 53 tackles and Nico Marley has nine tackles for loss.

The Bearcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Green Wave are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 Friday games. The Bearcats are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings.

While Cincinnati’s defense is absolutely brutal, the Green Wave can’t keep up offensively when the Bearcats are clicking. I look for the Bearcats to move the ball up and down the field with their passing game and win this game by double digits.

The Odds: The Cincinnati Bearcats are a 4 point favorite against the Tulane Green Wave. The over/under for this game is a 56.5 total points.

Will Cincinnati or Tulane pull off the win in this one?
