New York Giants at Miami Dolphins

When: Monday, December 14, 8:30 p.m. ET
Where: Sun Life Stadium, Miami, Florida

The New York Giants are 5-1 straight up in their last six games against the Miami Dolphins, but have failed to cover the spread in each of the last three games in this series. The Giants are facing the Miami Dolphins on the road this Monday night at Sun Life Stadium.

The New York Giants need this big road victory to stay in the thick of the NFC East race. Eli Manning is completing 62.3 percent of his passes for 3,318 yards, 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Manning has five touchdown passes in his last three games. Odell Beckham Jr. and Rueben Randle have combined for 1,687 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns while Shane Vereen has 42 receptions. The New York Giants ground game is averaging 88.1 yards per contest, and Rashad Jennings leads the way with 431 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, New York is allowing 24.7 points and 423.3 yards per game. Landon Collins leads the Giants with 78 tackles, Robert Ayers has four sacks and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has seven pass deflections. The Miami Dolphins need a nice home victory in hopes of remaining in the AFC wild card race. Ryan Tannehill is completing 61.4 percent of his passes for 3,077 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Tannehill has six touchdown passes in his last three games. Jarvis Landry and Rishard Matthews have combined for 1,483 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Kenny Stills has 20 receptions. The Miami Dolphins ground game is averaging 95.5 yards per contest, and Lamar Miller leads the way with 680 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Miami is allowing 25 points and 390.3 yards per game. Reshad Jones leads the Dolphins with 107 tackles, Olivier Vernon has 6.5 sacks and Brent Grimes has 12 pass deflections. Earl Mitchell is questionable with a calf injury.

The Giants are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in Week 14. The Dolphins are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS loss and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 Monday games. The underdog is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 meetings.

The Giants’ offense has struggled in three consecutive losses after scoring 49 and 32 against the Saints and the Buccaneers. It has not helped that they have consistently blown fourth-quarter leads all season, surely a byproduct of having the league’s worst pass defense.

Whether Miami can capitalize is the question. The Dolphins’ anemic offense is ranked 29th, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill has struggled mightily at times. He was just 9 for 19 for 86 yards in a 15-13 victory against the Ravens last week.

The game will be a reunion for wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. of the Giants and Jarvis Landry of the Dolphins, close friends and former teammates at Louisiana State
