Browns sign contract 3-year contract with Joe Haden

This Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announce their 3-year contract with Joe Haden. The deal was made between the Browns and the Steelers in which they sign the player for 3 years as a free agent. The news were reported by the Steelers on their official page as the welcomed the player. An ESPN corresponsal published that the deal worth $27 million. The first $7 million would be give this year. The player and the former team turn down many offers as the player always wanted to play with the Steelers.

He played seven seasons with the franchise after he was picked in 2010. The young athlete started his career back in 2008 when he played with the University of Florida. Back then, they won the BCS national championship and that put him on the eyes of many teams. Statistically talking, in 90 games he finished the season with 100 passes, 19 interceptions, 377 tackles, a touchdown and four fumbles. Two of his best year were 2013 and 2014, when he won the Pro Bowl selection and the second-team All-Pro honors.

Last year was one of his worst ones, as he was ranked No. 88 by the league. He has been on a decline since his start on the league, because of many injuries that affected his performance. He has suffered of ailments problems, concussions and a back injury. Last season was the worst of his career as he didn’t played much games as he wanted to. He talked to the press and explained all his frustration. The idea of the trade is that the player can go back to the start when he was an amazing runner. The 28-year-old player will have the opportunity to prove the Steelers family, as they paid enough money for him. He will play with the team as the new top corner, helped by players as Ross Cockrell, William Gay and Artie Burns.
