Kyrie Irving day-to-day with sprained right knee

The right knee sprain injury suffered by Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving in the second quarter is not considered serious, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The C's, without Irving, were outscored 70-38 in the second half and blew a 28-point lead in Saturday's defeat to the Clippers.

The Celtics led the Clippers 74–53 going into halftime, however, Los Angeles mounted a rally in the second half to pull off a stunning comeback to win 123–111 at TD Garden.

The Clippers outscored Boston 75–44 following Irving's departure, marking the largest blown lead by the Celtics since 2003.

The Celtics' next game is a showdown with the rival 76ers in Philadelphia on Tuesday night.

Boston is 2-0 in its season series with Philadelphia, but it likely will need Irving in the lineup to maintain that unbeaten record. Irving scored 40 points in the Celtics' last meeting against the Sixers -- an overtime victory on Christmas Day.

The Celtics have two games this week before NBA All-Star Weekend. In addition to the 76ers matchup, the C's also will host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. Irving was selected as an All-Star starter and drafted to play for Team LeBron during Sunday night's NBA All-Star Game in Charlotte.

Irving only played 14:17 minutes in Friday night’s loss, but had 14 points, two assists and one rebound before leaving early due to the injury.

For the season, Irving is averaging 23.6 points, 6.9 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. He’s shooting 49.8 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three in his second season with the team.

The Celtics dropped to 35–21 following Saturday's defeat and stand fifth in the Eastern Conference standings.
