Rules and Regulations

Basketball

  • NBA games must go at least 43 minutes to have action. For all other basketball leagues, games must go at least 35 minutes unless otherwise specified.
  • Any postponed, suspended, or rescheduled events will be considered no action. Overtime periods in college and professional games are counted in the final score.
  • On second-half wagers, overtime is included as part of the second-half score in both sides and totals wagers. On fourth quarter wagers, overtime is not included as part of the fourth quarter side or total.
  • European and International basketball the home team will be listed on top.
  • An NBA basketball team must play all 82 games for futures wagers on total wins to have action. We use the official scores from Don Best, all other score services are not honored.

Hockey

  • The game becomes official (action) after 55 minutes of play. Goals scored during overtime are included for wagers on the game, but are not included on wagers for the 3rd period.
  • Games lasting under official time constitue "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money is refunded. However, if periods are completed that constitutes action on periods.
  • If a game requires a shoot-out to determine the winner, one goal will be awarded to the winner for the final score (regardless of how many goals scored in the shoot-out), which will be recognized for the total goals scored as well as the winning team.
  • "Games must take place on the site and date scheduled. (unless otherwise specified)".
  • The Grand Salami will be decided by the total goals scored in all games scheduled in the given league for the given day. All scheduled games must play their three full periods. If any scheduled game is canceled or stopped before three full periods are played, all wagers on the Grand Salami will be canceled.
  • Wagering on International or European Ice Hockey can be via handicap or 3-way moneyline with a tie option.
  • European and International games will have the home team listed on top. The result of the game is decided after regulation time is over (Away/Home/Draw/Total). Overtime and shoot-outs are not included.
  • In American Hockey League the result of the game is decided after regulation time is final, the Home team is on the Bottom.

Hockey Propositions:

  • All teams listed in the proposition must start or the wager will be deemed no action.
  • Player to Score the Most Points: If two or more players listed have the same amount of points, then the wager is canceled.

Baseball

The result of a game is official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4.5 innings. If a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called. Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day unless otherwise specified.

In case of disputes the ruling made by "The Mirage" sports book in Las Vegas will apply.

Action:

  • No wagers are canceled for a listed pitcher change. If one of the original pitchers listed does not start the game (throw the first pitch of the game, not counting warm-ups), there will be a new line and the price on your play will be automatically adjusted.

List One Pitcher:

  • If the pitcher you specified does not start the game, you have "No Action". Whether or not the other pitcher listed starts the game is irrelevant.

List Both Pitchers:

  • Both pitchers listed need to start the game. If either or both pitchers do not start the game you have no action.

Totals And Run lines:

  • When betting on totals and/or run-lines the game must go nine innings (eight and a half if the home team is winning). Extra innings are included in the final totals. Listed pitchers must start the game. In case of disputes the ruling made by "The Mirage" sports book in Las Vegas will apply.
    • Both pitchers are automatically listed (both must start for action). This is the only way you can play totals and run lines. If either or both pitchers do not start the game you have "No Action".

    First 5 Innings:

    • Once 5 full innings have been completed, all wagers on the first half (5 innings) will stand.
    • A game does not have to go 9 complete innings, nor does a game need to be completed for the bet to be graded as the bet only covers the first five innings. Whatever occurs after five innings have been played is not relevant to the bet.
    • If a game does not go five full innings, all first-half wagers will be canceled. If the game should be deemed officially over after only 4½ innings, all first half wagers will still be considered no action.
    • No parlays between sides and totals in the first five innings are allowed.
    • All first-half wagers must list both pitchers. If either listed pitcher does not start, all wagers on the first half will be canceled.

    Second Half:

    • For wagering purposes, second half is considered to begin at the top of the 6th inning; regardless how many extra innings are played. To be official teams must play at least four full innings, or three and a half innings if the home team is leading.

    Regular Season Baseball Series Wagers:

    • Wagers on baseball series are based on the first three games played of each series.
    • At least two of the first three series games must be played for wagers to have action.
    • If only one of the first three games is postponed or canceled, series wagers stand as written.
    • If two of the first three games are postponed or canceled, all wagers on that series will be graded as no action and all monies refunded.
    • A called game will count toward a series wager provided it is officially declared a regulation game.
    • Pitchers cannot be listed for series wagers; all wagers will have action regardless of the starting pitchers.

    MLB Regular Season Wins Over/Under:

    • A baseball team must play at least 160 games for wagers on its season wins to have action.
    • For grading purposes, no extra tiebreaker games for wildcard or division will count toward the season win total.
    • MLB Championship Series and World Series games are not considered official until a winner is declared. If a post season game begins and then is delayed to a later date, all wagers will have action with the final score being graded as the official result.
    • Grand Salami: The Grand Salami will be decided by the total runs scored in all games scheduled in the given league for the given day. All scheduled games must be official to be considered for the Grand Salami total. If any scheduled game is canceled or stopped, all wagers on the Grand Salami will be canceled. All wagers will have action regardless of the starting pitchers.

MLB Runs, Hits and Errors (MLB R-H-E):

    • All MLB R-H-E wagers will be graded using the sum of Runs, Hits and Errors as grading factors.
    • When wagering on MLB R-H-E totals (over/unders) or MLB R-H-E spreads, the game must go 9 innings (8.5 if the home team is ahead) to have action. If a game is called or suspended in extra innings, the score will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie in the bottom half of the inning in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called. With MLB R-H-E moneylines the game must go 4.5 if the home team is ahead or 5 innings if the home team is not ahead after 4.5 innings.
    • For all MLB R-H-E wagers both listed pitchers must start. A pitcher is deemed a starter after throwing the first pitch to the opponent's first batter. If a listed pitcher doesn't start all monies will be refunded.

    MLB Prop Rules:

    • On any prop, the player(s) must start, and either throw one pitch(if pitchers), or have one plate appearance (if position players) in the designated game for the wager to have action.
    • The starting pitchers listed in the 1st inning shootout proposition must start, and throw a pitch, for all MLB Propositions for that game to have action.
    • For which team will score first props, the prop will be decided and graded as soon as either team scores, regardless if the game eventually becomes official.
    • All props regarding just the outcome of the first inning will be decided and graded at the end of the first inning, regardless if the game eventually becomes official.
    • On Total Bases Propositions, the listed pitchers and both players must start. A batter is only credited for bases if he hits a single (1 base), a double (2 bases), a triple (3 bases) or a home run (4 bases). A walk, hit by pitch, error, balk, fielder's choice, or passed ball do not count for Total Bases Propositions. The batter must hit the ball and make it to first base without an error being committed.
    • Pitcher propositions "Total Runs Allowed" include both earned and unearned runs.
    • Any MLB proposition using the phrase "innings pitched" will be graded using the box score number.
    • For example, a visiting starter who pitches five complete innings and then faces three batters in the top of the sixth, but records no outs. This would be graded as 5.0 innings pitched.
    • Or a home starter pitched five complete innings and did not throw a pitch in the bottom of the sixth. This would be graded as 5.0 innings pitched.
    • A "pick-em" match-up between these two pitchers for most innings pitched would be graded a tie.
    • For Division Winner wagers, if two teams have the same record after 162 games, the winner of the Division will be 1) the winner of the tiebreaker game, or 2) the team declared the winner by the MLB tiebreaker system for seeding playoff teams.
    • In a suspended game, total base props will have action only if the game is restarted and finished (goes 9 innings with a winner or 8.5 innings, if the home team is winning) on the date scheduled, or on the following day. If the game is suspended, and then rescheduled for a date past the following day, all wagers will be refunded.
    • For clarity, a suspended game is a game which started (had a pitch thrown), and was stopped.
    • For the Proposition "Player to hit most Home Runs in MLB", if there is a tie at the conclusion of the regular season, the player with the highest batting average, among those tied, will be declared the sole winner.

    MLB General Props:

    • For MLB General Props, the result of a game is official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4.5 innings.
    • MLB General Props do not require any specific pitcher to start a game.
    • If there are 10 or more games scheduled on a given day, all games or all games but one must go to completion for MLB General Props to have action. No more than one game may be shortened or postponed.
    • If there are 9 or fewer games scheduled on a given day, all of them must go to completion for MLB General Props to have action. No game may be either shortened or postponed.
    • Only the statistics of games declared official will be used for purposes of scoring MLB General Props. If a shortened game is declared official and MLB General Props have action, then statistics of this shortened game will be included with regard to grading.
    • For the prop "How many players will hit more than 1 HR today?" - This prop will refer to any player hitting more than one HR in a single game. If a player hits 1 HR in each game of a double-header, that does NOT count as more than 1 HR for the day. He must hit 2 or more HR's in a single game for it to be considered more than 1 HR.
    • For MLB General Props, if a team plays more than one game on a given day (e.g. double header), the statistics of each game will be considered independent. (e.g. "Most runs scored by one team", Philadelphia plays two games, scoring 4 runs in game one and 5 runs in game two. Either the 4 runs or 5 runs will be used but they will NOT be combined as 9 runs.)

MLB Futures: Player vs Player Season Props:

    • For baseball player vs. player season props, if either or both players start the season on the disabled list, not on the active roster or is sent to the minors, wagers have no action.

    Home Run Derby: All-Star Game:

    • In a first round matchup between two players, if the two players are tied, wagers on that matchup will be graded as no action and all monies refunded. No swing-off at-bats held after the first round will count toward the first round total.
    • Regardless of their starting/completion date, NCAA baseball tournament, NCAA softball tournament, international tournament and youth league tournament games have action with the final result score.
    • Any baseball, softball, or little league game ending early as a result of a mercy rule will have action on all wagers (unless otherwise noted).
    • Japanese Baseball: if a match is declared a draw, all bets are valid, side bets will push.

Football

  • For wagering purposes, winners and losers are determined by the final score (including overtime), provided that the game has gone at least 55 minutes.
  • If play is suspended before the completion of 55 minutes and not resumed the same day, all bets on the full game will be graded as no action and all monies refunded. If part of the game has finished (i.e. first quarter, first half, second quarter, or third quarter) those bets will be graded as action, provided the entire period has finished.
  • Any postponed, suspended, or rescheduled events will be considered no action. Overtime periods are counted in the final score of both college and professional games. For second-half wagers, overtime is included as part of the second-half for sides and totals wagers. Overtime is not included on wagers for fourth quarter sides or totals.
  • Las Vegas Rules apply for any rules not mentioned here.

Soccer

  • Wagers will be decided on games with two halves scheduled for 45 minutes each and any time the referee adds to compensate for injuries and other stoppages. Extra time, penalty shootouts and the golden goal are not taken into consideration for soccer bets unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Moneyline with Tie: This is the most common odds used by PerHeadNetwork.com where the bettor (punter) has three choices: team A, team B, or a tie. This type of wagering makes sense, since in regular season it is possible for a match to end in a tie. If you wager on the tie, and one of the teams wins at the end of 90 minutes, the wager is a loss.
  • Full game and 2nd half soccer wagers (Asian Handicap, money lines and totals) are official after full time (90 minutes regulation + injury time). If a match is abandoned or postponed, it must go to the 85th minute for action on money lines, spreads and totals
  • First half soccer wagers have action once the half is complete and will otherwise be canceled.
  • If a match is abandoned or postponed, all proposition bets on that match will be canceled unless a relevant market result has already happened. When a venue is changed, bets will stand unless the game is to be played at the original away team's home grounds in which case, all wagers will be canceled.

Golf

Wagers will be settled using the official tournament and match results (including final match correct score and individual match betting). This includes a match which finishes early, either by agreement of the players or because of injury.

Wagers on a golfer who does not tee off to start the tournament, the wager will be "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money will be refunded.
A golfer is deemed to have played once he or she has teed off. In the event of a player withdrawing after having teed off, wagers on that player will be lost.
Rules for specific type of golf wagers offered: Win, Top 3-4-5-10, Top Nationality or any other kind of group betting (4 or more players)

    • We offer varying odds for a golfer to Win, Place (Top 3, 4 or 5), Top 10 and numerous types of group betting (Top European, Winner without Tiger Woods, etc) in a tournament.
    • If the golfer does not tee off to start the tournament, the wager will be "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money will be refunded.
    • If player withdrawals constitute 1/5th (20%) or more of original amount of listed players - ALL bets are cancelled.
    • On the odds to win, the "Field" includes all players not offered by name.

In the event of a tie, (except for Tournament Winner betting), the player with the lowest score in the last round played will be declared the winner. Should there still be a tie between 2 or more players the odds are paid proportionally. This is determined by taking the odds for the wager and adding 1 for the stake. The result is divided by the number of golfers involved in the tie, and then multiplied by the number of winning positions occupied.

    • ie: If 3 golf contestants tie for 4th in a tournament the payout would be (1 + odds) divided by 3 [number of contestants tied for 4th] multiplied by 1 [number of winning positions occupied - 4th place only].
    • ie: If 3 golf contestants tie for 3rd in a tournament the payout would be (1 + odds) divided by 3 [number of contestants tied for 3rd] multiplied by 2 [number of winning positions occupied - 3rd and 4th positions].

If a tournament does not go the specified number of completed holes (usually 72), and is shortened by the tournament officials, the leader at the end of the number of holes specified by the officials will be the winner, unless there is no further play or only part of a round completed after a bet has been placed, in which case that bet will be canceled. Tournament must go at least 54 holes.

Wagering on match-ups between golfers (2 or 3 Players)

The winner of the match-ups will be decided by which golfer ends up with the lowest score having played equal rounds. Both golfers must tee off in the tournament or the wager will be "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money will be refunded. If one of the golfers misses the cut, withdraws, or is disqualified during the tournament, the opposing golfer wins the match-up.

Often "Tournament" match-ups are updated after each round. These new odds will be for the entire remainder of the tournament including the possible event of a playoff.

If a player is disqualified during either the 3rd or 4th rounds, when the other player in the match bet has already missed the cut, the disqualified player will be considered the winner.

Settlement will be on the player achieving the highest placing (lowest score) at the end of the tournament. If the number of rounds played is reduced, as in the case of bad weather, bets stand, providing that an official tournament winner is declared.

3-Way match-ups: also known as 3-balls will be decided by the lowest score at the end of the round (18 holes). If a player starts the round and withdraws he is considered a loser but if a player withdraws before the start of the round then all group bets will be cancelled. In the event of starting groups being rearranged, bets will be settled on the original groups.

3-Ball Tie Breakers: Should in the event 2 or more players tie, the player with the most birdies will be declared the winner. If still 2 or more players are tied, only bets on the tied players after use of the 1st tie breaker will be cancelled and monies refunded.

To miss/make the cut:

For some tournaments we may offer prices for players to make the cut (take part in the final rounds), or miss the cut (fail to qualify for the final rounds).

Wagering on 2-Way match-ups with a Tie: Player A, Player B, Tie

The winner will be decided by the lowest score at the end of the round (18 holes). In the event of a Tie at the end of the round (18 holes) wagers made on both players will be a loss, thus making the Tie a winner.

  • In the event a match does not go the specified number of sets and the match is shortened, the winner is determined by the event officials and becomes the official result.

Boxing

  • When the bell is sounded signifying the start of the opening round, the bout is considered official for wagering purposes. If the bout is officially stopped prior to the bell, that round is not considered a full round.
  • If the scheduled number of rounds is changed, the following wagers will have action: the fight winner, fighter wins only, and draw options. The propositions for fight totals and whether or not it will go the distance will have action only if the updated scheduled rounds are more than the originally listed number of rounds.
  • If the scheduled number of rounds is changed or wrongly posted, the following wagers will be considered no action: propositions for exact round of ending, fighter to win by knockout, technical knockout, disqualification, win by decision or technical decision, and goes the distance (provided the number of rounds is less than originally posted).
  • A fight is a Technical draw when a fight ends before an allotted number of rounds.
  • All bets on either boxer to win will be decided by the judges’ decision, which includes points, technical knockout (TKO), knockout (KO) or disqualification. Any fight that is deemed no contest will have all wagers refunded.
  • If a price is offered for a draw: in the event of a draw all bets on either boxer to win will be losers.
  • An Over/Under (total) listed on a fight represents the total number of completed rounds. The halfway point of a three minute round is at exactly one minute and thirty seconds.
  • Results will be graded based on the official result at ringside. Results are not official for wagering purposes until verified by officials at the fighting venue. Official or unofficial sanctioning body overturns of a fight decision based on appeal, suspension, lawsuit, drug testing result, or any other fighter sanction will not be recognized for wagering purposes.

If changes are subsequently made due to appeals or decisions of the governing body unrelated to the original finishing order (i.e. penalties for rules infractions, dangerous driving, etc.) the original results will still be deemed as the official results for grading purposes. Appeals and administrative penalties are not applicable for betting purposes.
  • A driver must start for action. If the driver withdraws prior to the start of the race then bets on said driver will be refunded. If he withdraws after the start or is replaced by another driver all bets on that driver will stand. In the case of a replacement driver the original driver will be deemed as the driver of that car for the entire race.

  • In head-to-head matchups, both drivers must start the race in order for the wager to be considered action. otherwise the wager is "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and money is refunded.
  • The start of the race is signified by the lap where the cars have completed the warm up laps and the race begins to countdown. In NO instance will warm up laps be counted for betting purposes.
  • All NASCAR propositions will be graded if the race is run to at least half of the scheduled laps with the exception of "average speed for the race." If the race is halted prior to the scheduled number of laps, then the average speed contest will be graded as no action, and the bets will be refunded.

  • If a match is suspended before full time is reached, and not completed the same day, wagers on the outcome of the match are canceled.
  • If a match venue is changed, all bets stand.

Handball

  • The matches must be completed on same day. If the match is suspended before Full Time is reached, all wagers will be "No Action" or "Push/Cancel" and all money is refunded.
  • If the match venue is changed, All bets will stand.
  • Overtimes or Penalty shootout will not count toward wagers.
  • Total goals - goals in regulation time only.
  • Web Bookmakers may offer a so called three-way line with the draw as the third betting option. In this case, when the outcome is a draw, only those bettors who wagered on the draw will be paid as winners; those who wagered on either team or contestant to win will lose their stake.
