Neymar will not see action against Montpellier

Neymar will miss PSG's trip to Montpellier at the weekend after the Brazilian star picked up a minor foot injury. The Parisian club are not willing to risk playing the world's most expensive player in the Ligue 1 fixture, with a midweek Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

The league leaders may also be without Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore for their match on Saturday.  Neymar has been an integral part of PSG's unbeaten start to the season which sees them sit three points ahead of second placed Monaco.

The 25-year-old Neymar has scored four goals and delivered four assists in five games with PSG since he joined from Barcelona in a world-record transfer worth 222 million euros ($262 million). It's the first game the Brazil international will miss with PSG since he was authorized to play. However, their next European tie is set to be an entirely different prospect as Unai Emery's men host Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes.

According to reports from L’Equipe, Neymar is likely to be named in the squad after resting his minor injury this weekend. The Brazilian was involved in a bust-up with teammate Edinson Cavani in PSG's last league game against Lyon. The pair argued over who would take the club's set pieces but Neymar is thought to have apologised to his teammates.

PSG travels to Montpellier aiming to extend its perfect league record this season to seven matches.
