"I'm excited to be able to showcase my skills on Jan. 19," James said. “It's extra motivation to have a very formidable opponent in front of me in Javier Molina. I can't wait to give the fans a show."

The 6-foot-2 James (18-0, 9 KOs), 27, of Minneapolis, scored his biggest win in his last bout on Sept. 18, a 10-round unanimous decision against Juan Carlos Abreu in a fight in which both fighters were knocked down.

A 2008 U.S. Olympian, Molina, (17-1, 8 KOs), 25, of Norwalk, California, has been beset by injuries and was limited to only one bout in 2015, a seventh-round knockout of low-level opponent Lenwood Dozier on Oct. 13.

"This is a huge opportunity for me to fight at home, and it's extra motivating to fight in the same venue where I made my pro debut," Molina said. “I've seen Jamal fight in the amateurs. We haven't fought but we know each other well. I'm very thankful to be in this position, and I plan on making the most of it."
