Cuban: D-League far better choice compared to NCAA
Mavericks proprietor Mark Cuban thinks it's in the best passions of world-class customers to play in the NBA Development League rather than investing one period in university.
"I assume exactly what will certainly end up happening-- and this is my opinion, not that of the league-- is if the universities don't change from the one-and-done, we'll pursue the one," Cuban said. Cuban's most significant issue about one-and-done leads is that they're usually not emotionally, emotionally and psychologically prepared for the NBA after investing just one period in an university environment.
He thinks the D-League might provide a better ambience for freshman-age players to create on and off the court.
"You need to develop some level of maturity, and that has to be part of the process," Cuban shared. "You do not intend to bring little ones in and just desert them. That would certainly be the worst thing we could possibly do.
"We 'd have to make it so where there would certainly be very stringent plans and regulations to make sure that, even if you're not visiting go to [university] training, there's going be life [skills] courses-- just how do you handle the globe?-- and you have to go to those. You need to stay on par with those. We would certainly have quite stringent [policies] on why you 'd be suspended if you didn't live up to them. Things that should be done to student-athletes in university and are simply not. Or otherwise constantly.".
Cuban's inclination is that the NBA minimum age limitation transfers to 21 and 3 years out of secondary school. However, he can visualize reducing the age limitation for gamers that visit the D-League.
"We would certainly have to believe it through," Cuban said. "I'm not trying to hop to conclusions and state I have actually evaluated this whole thing out. I have not.
