Washington (0-1) will be looking for their first win of the season while Nevada (1-0) will look to build on their win from last week.

The game is scheduled for a 10:30 p.m. start time, and currently the odds for the game have Washington State favored in this one on the road. Nevada faced a tougher than expected challenge in its nine-point victory over Southern Utah, and the Cougars fell in a shoot out to Rutgers last week.

The one certainty is that a Mike Leach coached team will throw the ball a lot with his Air Raid offensive system. Quarterback Connor Halliday is the signal caller who will be slinging the ball around all night in Reno, and he is possibly one of the best quarterbacks that Leach has had in his offensive system. The key for Nevada is obviously to disrupt the passing game with either a pass rush or rely on the cornerbacks and safeties to be able to slow down this attack.

Nevada does have Brock Hekking and Ian Seau on the defensive end positions to be able to create some pressure but Washington State typically gets rid of the ball very quickly making any pass rush have to be perfect to get to the quarterback. The Wolf Pack's outside duo has a chance to do that but they both will have to have a great performance to interrupt this passing attack. Even if the Nevada front seven has success, Washington State has too many weapons and too many tries slinging the ball around to rack up the yards.

Washington State is just brutal defensively and because of that, it's going to be hard for them to keep their opponents from putting up points themselves. If the Cougars can ever figure out how to tackle consistently and keep teams from scoring points, they could be a pretty good team.

Washington State has won both career meetings in this series, including a 55-21 beatdown the last time they met in 2005. They're favored by a little bit in this game tonight and should win, but it's going to be close. It's possible one defensive stop in the second half could determine who wins this one.

Washington State will put up points and so will Nevada so look for this game to be a high scoring and exciting game on Friday night. A shootout is probably not what Nevada really wants if they want to win so they will need their defense to make a few stops against this Air Raid attack if they are going to win.
