Fernandez is 16-8 with a 2.25 ERA in 36 career starts for the Marlins. In the 2013 and 2014 seasons, the Marlins were 23-13 (.639) when Fernández started and 116-172 (.403) when anyone else started.

The Miami Marlins will be at home for his return.

Now talking about Matt Cain, he is returnig also from a long journey he hasn't pitched in the big leagues since July 9. His 2014 season ended when he had elbow surgery in August to remove bone chips, and he's been out this year with a flexor tendon strain.

"It's been a long road, but it's going to be worth it," Cain told MLB's website. "It's definitely a lot longer road than we expected. But that's just the way it goes."

Injury limited him to 15 starts last Seaton, after Cain started 30 or more games in eight consecutive seasons, he posted a career-high 4.18 ERA and a FIP of 4.58, a half point higher than his previous career worst. Indeed 2014 was Cain’s worst statistical season

So today we’ll see the Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants and Tampa Bay Rays with Jose Fernandez, Matt Cain  returning from injury to start on Thursday afternoon.
