Previously, Cleveland defeated the Philadelphia 76ers by a final score of 97-84 on February 2, a game where Cavaliers small forward Lebron James had 18 points and 11 assists in order to propel his team to the victory.

James has taken a step back at times, too. He averaged 30.5 points in eight games after missing eight with knee soreness, sat out as Irving scored a career-high 55 in a 99-94 win over Portland last Wednesday and has scored fewer than 20 in two of the last three.

LeBron James was working on his ball-handling skills, shooting free throws and talking to reporters Wednesday wearing Kyrie Irving's practice jersey.

James finished with 18 points and 11 assists as Irving scored 24 against the 76ers. Irving is averaging 25.8 points and shooting 51.5 percent during the winning streak, which James realizes means nothing unless Cleveland (30-20) succeeds in the postseason.

Irving had 37 points, James finished with 32, 11 rebounds and seven assists and Love sat out with back spasms in a 126-121 win over the Clippers on Jan. 16.

The Cavs appear to be mostly in a good place right now, winners of an NBA-best 11 consecutive games, swappers of practice jerseys, and, now, fierce on-court defenders.

Cleveland's next opponent, the Los Angeles Clippers, represents another milestone of sorts for the Cavs. The Clippers were victim no. 2 on Cleveland's winning streak, but they were the last team to score more than 100 points against the Cavs.

When the two teams met on Jan. 16 at Staples Center, the Cavs were one-game removed from a six-game losing streak. James was in his third game back and was scoring like crazy - he poured in 32 against the Clippers.

This game certainly has the potential to be a statement game for the Cavs. A nationally televised game against a fellow contender is always a prime opportunity to show the casual fan what you're made of. It also involves several head to head match-ups with some of the most talented players on the planet at their respective positions.
