Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks

pay per head networkThe Milwaukee Bucks are having trouble maintaining their strong start as they try to win consecutive meetings with the Miami Heat for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Miami recently lost to their Southeast division rival, the Atlanta Hawks by a final score of 112-102 on December 3 after Heat's center Chris Bosh had 27 points, 11 rebounds and one block in a losing effort.

The Miami Heat are 9-9 to start the year but really you can pin much of the success and failure the team has seen on the health and production of star guard Dwyane Wade.  Wade has missed seven of the team’s 18 games but he’s been producing when playing with 21.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.  The contributions from Chris Bosh have been steadier and more impressive overall though with the big man averaging 21.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.  The Heat have struggled with team rebounding ranking last in the league with just 36.3 per game.

Defensively the Heat rank 9th while allowing just 97.8 points per game but that stat can be a little misleading when looking at the team’s change in pace without the transition game which LeBron previously spearheaded.  The Heat struggled to score in a 91-84 loss to the Bucks in Miami on November 16th, a game in which Milwaukee dominated in paint points 46-24.

Milwaukee (10-10) was off to its best 17-game start in nine years after allowing 86.7 points and 41.7 percent shooting in three straight wins last week - two over Detroit and another at Minnesota.

The Bucks, however, have struggled defensively to begin a stretch of 10 of 11 against teams that currently have .500 records or better. The one exception in that span is Tuesday's visit to Oklahoma City, which now has Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook back.

Milwaukee gave up 111.7 points and 49.6 percent shooting in losses to Houston, Cleveland and Dallas. Former Buck Monta Ellis extended the skid with a fall-away jumper at the buzzer of the 107-105 defeat to the Mavericks on Wednesday.

The game will start at 8:30 pm ET and it can be watched on the NBA League Pass network or online through live stream
