NBA: New York Knicks at Milwaukee Bucks

Best Bookie SoftwareThe MIlwaukee Bucks will be trying to break above the .500 mark on the season tonight, when the Bucks play host to the New York Knicks.  Milwaukee has one of the better defenses in the league right now, holding opponents to an average of 92.6 points per game.  The Bucks have used that defense to earn wins in three out of their last four outings, including wins against the Grizzlies and the Heat in that span.  In fact, last time out the Bucks defeated Miami 91-84 on the road at Miami, which is no easy task.

The New York Knicks are coming off a win against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday afternoon. Carmelo Anthony had his usual high scoring game, but this time he was able to get some help from former Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith. He had a season-high of 28 points to go with two steals and one block.

Being led by new faces, such as rookie Jabari Parker and Coach Jason Kidd, the Bucks will look to use their youth to pull out a victory against New York. Milwaukee is coming off an upset win against the defending Eastern Conference champions the Miami Heat. Brandon Knight was the high man in that game with 20 points. Last season, the Bucks only had five wins after their first 21 games. This season, they already have five wins in 10 games.

Milwaukee has also had their share of struggles scoring, as they are currently 28th in points per game. At home, they average 89 points. They are a solid rebounding team, though, as they stand at number 13 in the league.

Jason Kidd is probably best prepared for the vitriol that will be directed his way Wednesday when he makes his highly-anticipated return to Brooklyn as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. Right along with his impeccable court vision and uncanny ability to make players around him better, Kidd’s reputation for sloppy, scorched-earth exits and coaching upheaval is a part of his legacy he can’t escape.

Walking through Barclays Center again and enduring a possible cascade of boos, is nothing new for someone who used a migraine to force his way out of New Jersey and later reneged on an agreement with the Mavericks to end his career with the New York Knicks. Those were just two offenses during his Hall of Fame career.

Kidd is unfazed by the criticism he received for a failed power play with the Nets, especially since it resulted in him inevitably receiving the influence and new contract he sought in Milwaukee, where he already shared a friendship with one of the Bucks’ new owners.

Knight is their high scorer with 18 points per game. O.J. Mayo has been leading the Bucks bench with 11 points per game. Parker is only averaging 10 points a game but has shown he can be a solid rebounder in his young career, averaging six a game.

Just like in the previous game, Anthony will need his teammates to help him in the scoring category. Whether it's Smith once again or someone else, the Knicks will need a team effort to come out on top. Larkin, who has had some good defensive games this season, will need to have another strong impact to stop Knight. This game will feature two former point guards as head coaches now. Fisher is in his first season, as Kidd is in his second. They will look to continue to expand their coaching knowledge, as their squads go head-to-head. With both teams coming off wins, it will be interesting to see whose momentum will go down first.
