NBA: San Antonio Spurs at Golden State Warriors

Best Bookie Software On the second game of their West Coast road-trip, the San Antonio Spurs look to get a win versus the red-hot Golden State Warriors.

The Golden State Warriors had their undefeated run come to an end on Sunday and are trying to figure out how to take better care of the ball. The Warriors will try to clean things up and take advantage of the San Antonio Spurs, who will be playing the second night of a back-to-back. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is not a fan of the Spurs' recent run of back-to-backs, and resting several regulars is never out of the question.

San Antonio had to put out a lot of energy in order to power through an 89-85 road victory against the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday and never gained the lead until finishing the game with a 14-3 run.

The Spurs were able to stay close enough in the fourth quarter thanks to committing just eight turnovers, 19 fewer than Golden State's season high in Phoenix on Sunday.

There's no doubt how close Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich are heading into their first matchup as coaches.

Kerr could be without one of his best players Tuesday night while Popovich has been known to rest some of his stars in the second half of back-to-back games.

Klay Thompson's status is in doubt for the Warriors while the visiting Spurs are seeking to continue their recent success in this series.

Kerr closed his playing career with two stints with the Spurs in the latter stages, earning NBA titles with the club in 1999 and 2003 to give him five overall.

It was during that time that he grew close to Popovich. They will match wits for the first time though it's not altogether clear if some key players will be available.

Thompson sat out Sunday's 107-95 loss at Phoenix because of a sprained right hand. He is seventh in the NBA with 23.8 points per game.

San Antonio (3-3) is back in action after opening this four-game trip with an 89-85 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday. Kawhi Leonard had 26 points and 10 boards and Tim Duncan added 18 and 11.

The Spurs finished with a 14-3 run, giving Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker their 500th career victory together. They are second among trios in NBA history to Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish, who won 540 games with the Boston Celtics.

Leonard matched his highest point total in a regular-season game Monday despite playing with one good eye. His vision has been affected by a case of conjunctivitis.

Now the question is whether Popovich will give his veterans some rest. This is the Spurs' second back-to-back, and the coach rested Duncan and Ginobili in this circumstance in last Thursday's 98-81 defeat at Houston.

The Spurs won't have Tiago Splitter, out with right calf tightness. Marco Belinelli has missed three straight games with a mild groin strain.

Both these teams have been plagued by turnovers. Golden State (5-1) is averaging a league-worst 22.5 per game while San Antonio is eighth-worst at 16.5 after having a season-low eight Monday.

The biggest culprit for the Warriors is Stephen Curry, who leads the league with 27.7 points per game as well as 4.8 turnovers per contest. He had 28 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high 10 turnovers Sunday.

Golden State averaged 18.8 turnovers in losing all four meetings with San Antonio a season ago and has dropped 21 of 23 matchups in the regular season. The Spurs eliminated the Warriors two seasons ago in six games in the Western Conference semifinals.

Green is averaging 20.0 points and 8.3 rebounds in his last three games after tallying 8.7 and 7.0 in the first three.
