NFL: Los Angeles Clippers at Miami Heat

Best Bookie SoftwareThe Miami Heat will have their hands full on tonight, when the Heat host the Los Angeles Clippers.

Miami Heat, the defending Eastern Conference champions, will try to make it two wins in a row, led by Mario Chalmers and Chris Bosh, the injury-stricken Heat (6-5) beat the Brooklyn Nets 95-83 at the Barclays Center on Monday.

It's been a difficult few months for Mario Chalmers, who was criticized for his poor play in the NBA Finals, then lost his starting job at the beginning of the season.

He's now giving the Miami Heat a boost with some of the best basketball of his career in Dwyane Wade's absence.

Chris Bosh is learning the hard way that his old moves just aren’t good enough anymore.

Back in Toronto, when Bosh was a franchise player for the first time in his career, the 6-10 center used to simply blow past slower defenders for drives to the basket or easily find space for open shots. Those days are gone, and he has learned over the past week that they’re not coming back.

Chalmers shot a career-high 45.4 percent last season but averaged only 4.4 points on 7-of-21 shooting as Miami lost the NBA Finals in five games to San Antonio. He had started all 214 of the games he appeared prior to opening this season as a backup to Norris Cole.

After Wade suffered a hamstring injury in a Nov. 12 loss to Indiana, Chalmers has averaged 21.0 points on 52.8 percent shooting while playing increased minutes the last three games, including back-to-back starts. He entered the season averaging 8.6 points and shooting 42.7 percent for his career.

Chalmers made a career-best 11 of 13 free throws and led the team in scoring for a third straight game with 22 points in Monday's 95-83 win at Brooklyn, ending a three-game slide for Miami (6-5).

The Los Angeles Clippers are playing solid ball this season, however L.A.’s record, I’m sure, isn’t where they would like necessarily.  The Clippers are 6-4 on the season,, and in second place in their division.  If I were a Clippers fan, I wouldn’t worry too much about standings right now, but it is important not to fall too far behind too early.

Los Angeles has won three out of their last five heading into this meeting with the Heat, and in their last outing the Clippers took care of business against the Magic, defeating Orlando 114-90 on Wednesday night.
