Fultz out 2-3 more weeks

As the Philadelphia 76ers continue to show improvements, Markelle Fultz has been ruled out another 2-3 weeks. Fultz remains sidelined with a shoulder issue. And it’s now being reported that Fultz will miss a few more weeks, at least, before we see him again on the court.

After being re-evaluated, it was concluded that Fultz should sit out another 2-3 weeks. He will be re-evaluated after the next few weeks in order to find a new course of action.

Fultz has missed the last 11 games after struggling through the team’s first handful of games. It’s expected for Fultz to be out until at least Christmas, and it’s probably for the best. The Sixers don’t need to rush Fultz back.

Fultz’s injury clearly hampered his shooting, which currently stands at 33 percent and has drawn plenty of criticism. He also changed his shooting form over the summer, which probably wasn’t a good idea.

Fultz has been experiencing soreness and scapular muscle imbalance in his right shoulder since the end of October. He was officially shut down on the 29th. According to the team, the soreness has waned, but they still want to  give him time to heal.

Fultz, 19, was the top pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. He has only played four games this season, averaging 6.0 points per game, 1.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds.

The whole situation with Fultz, his shoulder, and his shooting form has been one of the strangest NBA stories in years.

He seemingly forgot how to shoot free throws during preseason, and the problem carried over into the regular season. According to Fultz, he had to alter his release because of a shoulder injury, but the Sixers claimed that Fultz had actually spent the summer trying to rework his shooting form, and that was what had caused the shoulder soreness.

It was an extremely bizarre few weeks where the two sides couldn't get on the same page, and Fultz was left trying to push through the problem seemingly on his own. Thankfully, they eventually shut him down after the Oct. 23 game against the Pistons, and he's been rehabbing his shoulder ever since.
