UNC-Wilmington hires Louisville asst. Keatts

Louisville aide Kevin Keatts has been employed as instructor at UNC-Wilmington, it was announced Thursday.

Keatts will manage the Seahawks' program after the Cardinals complete play in the NCAA event. Louisville deals with Kentucky in the Dessert 16 on Friday.

UNCW finished 9-23 this season under fourth-year train Buzz Peterson, including 3-13 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Peterson was discharged previously this month, after having gone 42-80 with the Seahawks.

"Kevin Keatts is among the top young basketball instructors in the nation and we welcome him to the Seahawk household," UNCW athletic supervisor Jimmy Bass claimed in a launch. "We're very thrilled concerning just what lies in advance for our program.".

The 41-year-old Keatts is in his 3rd period on Rick Pitino's team at Louisville. He trained recently at Hargrave Military college in Chatham, Va

Pitino already has 11 former assistants acting as university head teachers, consisting of five which progressed to the NCAA tournament.
