It has been a long season for the Ball State Cardinals who were expected to go Bowling. However the Cardinals have dropped six of seven and will be staying home for the holidays. Ball State is coming off of a 54-7 defeat at Western Michigan where they struggled on both sides of the ball with the Broncos leading 30-0 at the half  on the way to a 711-152 yardage edge. The Cardinals really needed a productive rushing attack to eat clock and keep the Western Michigan offense off the field but that didn’t happen with the team averaging around three yards per carry. Quarterback Riley Neal couldn’t get the Cardinals going through the air with 78 yards and a touchdown on 12-25 with Jordan Williams catching four balls for 43 yards and a score.

The Ohio Bobcats have been rebuilding the last few years and the rebuilding seems to be right on course with a 6-4 record with a pair of games remaining. The Bobcats snapped a three game slide with a 27-0 rout of visiting Kent State. The boxscore tells the story with Ohio dominating all phases with a 447-191 edge in yards while forcing a pair of turnovers. This was really the Derrius Vick show as the Ohio quarterback completed 7-13 for 73 yards and a touchdown with Jordan Reid snagging three balls for 51 yards including a 41 yard scoring strike. Vick also led the Bobcats with 107 yards on 22 carries and a trip to the end zone while AJ Ouellette totaled 74 yards with Daz’mond Patterson contributing 61 yards.

Players To Watch

Riley Neal: (OB, Ball State)- Neal has been stellar at times for Ball State, but looked off when the Cards last took the field at Western Michigan. He'll need to improve if BSU will have a chance to pick up a victory.

Ball State passing defense- The passing defense was putrid versus WMU two weeks ago. Although Ohio doesn't bring as much to the table as the Broncos, the Bobcats could get going unless the Cards improve in protecting the air tonight.

Darius Vick: (QB, Ohio)- Vick had a good outing last week versus Kent State. He went for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns in the 27-0 victory. He could have another great game if BSU's defense puts on a repeat of their WMU performance.

Ohio's defense- The Bobcats defense was stellar on a nasty night versus Kent State. They only allowed 191 total yards, and will look to repeat the performance versus the struggling Ball State offense.
